5 mistakes when vacuuming

Cleaning an apartment with a vacuum cleaner is familiar to everyone. It seems that there is nothing more basic than vacuuming the house: even a child can do it.

But in order to do it efficiently, you need to follow some rules, which many people forget about when making mistakes. For example, these.

  1. Constant operation of the vacuum cleaner at full power.
  2. Filling the garbage disposal to capacity.
  3. Ignoring attachments for various surfaces.
  4. Cleaning up puddles.
  5. Cleaning after renovation.

Let's take a closer look at them.

By screws!

When we turn on the vacuum cleaner at full power, we think (me included) that this will make the floor cleaner. In fact, our assistant will break down faster this way. By attracting curtains, toys, and carpets with a strong flow, the motor experiences overloads that accelerate wear. And the curtains below lose their aesthetic appearance.

It would be right to increase the power where it is really needed: when cleaning the carpet, for example. On a smooth floor, half the thrust is enough: nothing prevents dust from flying towards the brush.

Until it’s full, I won’t clean it!

Laziness is a terrible force. Nobody wants to deal with a dusty bag once again. “Since the manufacturer created a dust collector of this size, it means that he calculated that the dimensions of the bag are optimal.” - we think.

It’s better to fill the bag 2/3 full. This way it does not interfere with the flow of air to the compressor, and the vacuum cleaner does not lose traction. Shaking out debris in a timely manner will prolong the smooth operation of your assistant.

Nozzles are unnecessary

A housewife's best friends are attachments. With them, cleaning becomes much more convenient.

  1. For upholstered furniture and Roman blinds. A small nozzle with felt, but without bristles, will perfectly remove dust from chairs and pillows, refreshing the appearance.
  2. For laminate and parquet. A wide brush with bristles on both sides collects hair and dust from a smooth floor, rolling along it on wheels.
  3. For shelves, tables and cupboards. A small brush with long bristles will sweep away dust where a wide one cannot reach. You need to vacuum at the lowest power: passing through a small hole, the air flow accelerates, creating increased draft. This flow can draw small things into the vacuum cleaner, which you will then have to look for in the trash.
  4. Nozzle for wool. Not available on all models. Long rubber bristles catch hair and fur, leaving your carpet perfectly clean. “Favorite” brush of pet owners.
  5. Standard for carpets. Everyone knows her. Everyone uses it, and the rest are completely forgotten.

Cleaning up puddles

You can remove puddles with a vacuum cleaner with an aquafilter or a detergent. A regular device is not designed for this. Otherwise, a short circuit will occur (in the worst case) or the garbage will simply get wet and smell unpleasant. If there is a paper bag in the device, it can get wet and burst, releasing dust back into the apartment.

Cleaning after renovation

You don’t want to collect heavy construction waste by hand. What's easier: pull it with a vacuum cleaner without an attachment - and you're done. But this way you will ruin the engine. A vacuum cleaner means that it removes dust. And not pieces of concrete at all.

Friends! Use the equipment for its intended purpose, follow the operating rules written in the boring instructions, and then the vacuum cleaner will not only last the warranty period, but many years longer.
