Using scales
The method is used if you need to get new planting material from one bulb. After purchasing, you should rinse the onion with warm water. Remove the scales from the onion and soak them in a light manganese solution. This action eliminates harmful bacteria that may accumulate during plant growth. Place the scales in sphagnum moss and moisten.
Small compactions will appear on the scales. Gradually, the bulbs increase in size; after the appearance of green shoots, young shoots need to be planted in the ground. Watering young lilies should be done every 3 days, this will strengthen the roots and speed up their maturation.
Formation of daughter buds
From one onion you can get many daughter ones. For these purposes, it is necessary to plant the flower in the ground and grow it in the usual way. After the buds appear, they must be removed. The absence of buds will direct all the plant's forces to the formation of roots. It is necessary to trim the buds during the season. Thus, already in the fall you can get from one root to 10 daughter ones, without reducing the characteristics of the variety.
By dividing the nest
In order to propagate a flower using one bulb, you can use the following method:
- planting material is planted in the ground. The buds are removed so that all nutrients are directed to the root zone. The plant is left in the ground for two seasons;
- in the fall you should dig up the root along with a lump of earth;
- carefully clean the root system from soil;
- using a sharp pruner, carefully divide the nest into parts with buds;
- parts of the nest are planted in a new place of growth.
The disadvantage of this method is that in order to obtain new bushes in large quantities, you need to carefully care for the bush and not dig it up for several years.
When choosing the appropriate method, you must carefully ensure that the bulbs are not infected and have no signs of rot, as the plant will die in the future.
