Selection of planting material
The tubers look like small shoots that are collected in a bunch. In early April, the tubers must be taken out of the basement and carefully examined for rot and mold. The affected rhizomes should be carefully cut off and the cut areas should be sprinkled with activated carbon.
Distribute the roots by size. Large specimens should be planted in the background of the flowerbed, small ones - in front. This way, the bushes will not shade each other.
Soaking
In winter, the planting material may lose its appearance. The tubers dry out and do not sprout without preliminary soaking. To restore the planting material, it must be soaked in warm water for 8 hours. Place the container with water in a warm place.
Disinfection
Ranunculus tubers must be disinfected, since pest eggs and fungal strains can accumulate in the planting material. For this, a solution of manganese or Fitosporin is used. The tubers are placed in the solution for 15 minutes, after which they are laid out on a paper towel and dried.
Germination of planting material
You can get strong bushes by first germinating ranunculus. To do this, planting material should be placed in damp moss or sawdust. Place in a warm place and monitor the humidity. Planting material must be stored in a cool place.
Growing seedlings
After the roots begin to form sprouts, they need to be transplanted into a container for seedlings. You can use plastic or peat glasses. For ranunculus, you should use a purchased substrate intended for seedlings. You need to plant one tuber in filled cups and moisten them with warm water. Place it on the windowsill. After green shoots appear, the seedlings are shaded a little and grown until planted in the ground. Flower growers often use peat glasses. Such containers soak in the ground and are used as fertilizer.
Ranunculus are distinguished by abundant flowering and easy care. Proper preparation of planting material allows you to get a bright flower bed and healthy plants.
