Sowing time
Carnation Shabot is a plant with a two-year development period. To get flowers the first year, seeds can be sown from mid-January to the end of February.
From germination to planting in open ground, it manages to go through all the stages of development necessary for flowering. If you sow later, the flowers will appear only at the end of August.
In the southern regions this occurs in the first year of development. There the seeds themselves disperse, germinate in August and have time to prepare for wintering. In the second year they bloom.
In more northern regions the seeds do not ripen. Young plants may not survive the winter. Therefore, it is better to grow them as seedlings.
It is better to buy seeds from reputable suppliers. You should not purchase goods at a low price. This may indicate poor quality and mis-grading.
Container selection

- the first is carried out when the sprouts have grown the first pair of true leaves. The plants are transplanted into cups with a diameter of 5-6 cm and a volume of 0.1 l;
- the second - when 4 pairs of leaves appear. The diameter of the container is at least 10 cm, the volume is 0.5 l.
