There are at least 10 places in our home where mold can exist unnoticed. We may not even suspect such a roommate. Even the cleanest apartment can harbor mold. To detect it, you need to very carefully examine the surfaces of objects, floors, and so on.

So where can mold exist unnoticed?
- In a refrigerator;
- On a toothbrush;
- In the washing machine;
- In the toilet cistern;
- In a coffee machine;
- On children's toys;
- On bottles of shampoo or shower gel;
- Microwave;
- In cosmetics;
- On clothes.
We didn't expect it, did we? The appearance of mold in such unexpected places is initially puzzling. To prevent its occurrence you need to follow a few simple rules.
In a refrigerator
Mold lives in our refrigerator, as well as on the rubber inserts on its doors. Since there is often a high level of humidity there, this becomes an excellent place for the formation of harmful cohabitants. Experts recommend treating rubber inserts every 2-3 weeks. Treatment is carried out using a special product or a weak bleach solution.
In the washing machine
Unfortunately, your washing machine is also at risk of mold. If after washing it gives off a nasty smell, then mold probably lives there.To avoid the appearance of a roommate in this device, you need to leave the door open for several hours after taking things out of the machine after washing. It is also necessary to wipe the door from the inside and the drum itself.
In the toilet cistern
It is not surprising that mold often grows in the toilet cistern. There is high humidity there, which dramatically increases the chance that mold will appear there. Unfortunately, no one has come up with a way to solve this problem, and the appearance of an unnecessary roommate in such a simple place is inevitable.
Inside hollow plastic toys
Another place where mold settles is inside hollow plastic toys. If there is mold inside the toy, then under no circumstances should you give it to your child. After each washing procedure, the toy must be thoroughly dried. Also, if possible, wipe dry.
In the coffee machine
In appearance, a coffee machine is a harmless device that brings flattery. But even there you can have an unpleasant roommate. All elements that are dismountable must be thoroughly washed with hot water and dried frequently. A sure sign that there is mold in this machine is a not very pleasant smell from the coffee machine.
Microwave
Surely we all notice that after the microwave oven has warmed the food, small drops of water are visible inside on the plate (also on the walls and door). A humid environment is created in which mold develops very quickly and subsequently thrives.Experts recommend purchasing a special lid, thanks to which after heating up food all the drops will remain on the walls of the lid, and not in the microwave. It is worth noting that such a lid is not expensive and very convenient to use. It is recommended to open the door for a few minutes after heating up food.
At the bottom of shampoo or shower gel bottles
Usually shampoos and shower gels are in the bathroom in places where water constantly gets in and a high level of humidity is created. Mold can form on the bottom of the bottle on the outside. Do not forget that these bottles are best kept away from water in a dry place, inaccessible to children and pets.
On cosmetics
Who would have thought that mold could appear on cosmetics? After all, the composition includes a huge number of preservatives that protect the product from the appearance of an unwanted inhabitant. If you notice mold on your cosmetics, throw it away immediately, as it can no longer be used.
On clothes
Even our clothes can become the site of such an unwanted inhabitant. Most often, mold appears on clothes if you forget to take them out, hang them up and dry them after washing. Unpleasant, isn't it? Do not leave wet clothes in a closed washing machine to avoid the appearance of a cohabitant.
On a toothbrush
Mold can even form on a toothbrush. Here you can breathe a sigh of relief. Only electric toothbrushes are susceptible to this, as well as those items that are stored horizontally in an unventilated place.To avoid this, store your toothbrush in a ventilated place in an upright position.
In general, the appearance of mold is bad news. It is worth following the basic rules of keeping your home clean in order to reduce the risk of mold in the most undesirable places.
