The puzzle rug is a modern floor covering made of foamed polymer, which is ideal for a child's room. In stores you can find both rugs with patterns and plain ones. They consist of tiles with side projections (modules), which make it easy to assemble and disassemble the coating, like a regular puzzle.

Advantages of puzzle rugs
Nowadays, puzzle mats are becoming popular due to a number of advantages:
- warm material: if you have such a covering at home, children can play directly on the floor;
- non-slip: even a baby taking his first steps can safely move on such a surface;
- soft enough, safe, will protect the child from injury or bruise when falling;
- bright, will become an original piece of furniture;
- with a variety of drawings: children will be able to learn colors, animal names, numbers and letters;
- the rug simultaneously acts as a covering and a puzzle that the child can assemble and disassemble, developing attentiveness and fine motor skills;
- does not cause allergic reactions, unlike ordinary carpets that accumulate dust;
- low price;
- it is easy to care for and keep clean, since the surface does not absorb moisture and dirt.
How to Keep a Puzzle Mat Clean
In order for the coating to serve and please you for as long as possible, it must be properly cared for. The following tips will help with this.
Tip 1
Immediately after purchase, the new rug must be washed.To do this, you can use baby soap (or dish detergent), water and a sponge (or cloth). Wash each module in the sink or bathtub, rinse with water, dry, after which the coating can be assembled.
Tip 2
If a liquid is accidentally spilled on the mat (water, coffee, milk, etc.) or a stain is placed (for example, melted chocolate, ink, etc.), just wipe the surface with a paper or cloth napkin. Since the coating consists of modules, if necessary, one or more tiles can be detached and washed in water. Traces from pencils, felt-tip pens, paints, and plasticine are also easily removed with water. If necessary, you can use soap or dish detergent.
Tip 3
If something dry is spilled or crumbled on the rug (sugar, tea leaves, cookies, etc.), you should use a vacuum cleaner. Vacuuming surfaces regularly can and should be done when there is a pet covered in fur in the house. If a small child constantly plays on the surface, cleaning should also be done regularly.
Tip 4
It is recommended to disassemble the mat at least once a week and wash it with soap by hand, in the washing machine or dishwasher. The water temperature should not be higher than 50 degrees. Approximately 10 rugs measuring 33x33 cm can be placed in a washing machine with a load of 5 kg. The covering should be dried vertically when disassembled.
Tip 5
Do not use abrasive or acidic agents, solvents, powders, or aggressive chemicals (for example, chlorine) to clean the puzzle mat, as they can damage the surface: scratch, deform, or make the paint fade.
Using the suggested tips and recommendations for caring for a bright puzzle rug, it is not difficult to extend its service life.
