Before furnishing an apartment with mirrors, owners should remember simple rules: the reflective surface should not “look out” from the window or be reflected in a similar household item. By incorrectly arranging these household items, household members will release positive events from the home.
How to arrange a hallway
A mirror behind which a place is assigned in the hallway or corridor should not reflect the front door, since it is through it that good energy enters the house. The following options are allowed:
- position the reflective surface at right angles to the main entrance;
- make sure that a beautiful picture is reflected, a photograph of smiling, successful people or loving spouses, images of bank notes, a lamp, flowers in a crystal vase and other pleasant things. Accordingly, it is better to hide soiled shoes, a trash can and dirty laundry away.
How to make your bathroom a place of positive energy
Feng Shui experts suggest that owners of small apartments use reflective surfaces to correct the energy flows circulating in the bathroom. To do this you need:
- equip the room with two mirrors that do not reflect each other. Preference should be given to walls “looking” to the west and east;
- do not allow a person bending over the sink while washing to stand with his back to the door leading from the bathroom to the corridor. If this is not possible, a small mirror hung above the sink will save the situation.
Recommendations for arranging living rooms
In the place of eating, mirrors serve to increase the number of tableware, sets and delicious food. If you have a mirrored ceiling or wall, the living room or dining room will benefit.
Technical side of the issue
Professional designers, whose activities are not tied to the laws of Feng Shui, advise using reflective surfaces as a way to bring new colors to the interior, namely:
- small mirrors are placed so that the central part of the household item is located at eye level of a person who is not too tall. If this interior element is used exclusively for decoration, it is placed at a height of one and a half meters from the floor;
- each of the reflective surfaces must be positioned so that the distance between it and a person is 1.5 meters or more;
- the permissible width of any home mirror is half a meter, no less. If the object is large, but does not occupy the entire wall, its recommended size is 1700x1900 mm.
An artificial light source installed near the mirror should “look” directly into the reflective surface. You can break this rule only in the case of a dressing table.
