Everyone knows how useful raspberries are; many gardeners grow them on their plots. The bushes grow well, but not everyone is happy with the yield. Let's see what can be done to get as much raspberry harvest as possible with minimal occupied space.

Light
Raspberries, like most plants, love light. Berries grown in the sun are larger and juicier than their counterparts that ripened in the shade. Therefore, make sure that the raspberry bushes are at a sufficient distance from each other, and that there are no large trees growing nearby that create shade. We recommend planting bushes 70 cm apart from each other - this is the optimal distance at which the plant will receive light and it will be more convenient for you to harvest.
Moisture
Raspberries are a moisture-loving plant, so do not allow the roots, which are located only 40 cm in the soil, to dry out. If it hasn't rained for a long time, be sure to water the plant. But here, too, maintain a balance - do not turn the soil into a swamp. Moderation and systematicity are important.
Place
The berry is prone to rapid growth, so this must be carefully monitored and thinned out in time. This will ensure that the plant will not “waste” energy on young shoots, and all the beneficial substances will remain and will promote the growth of raspberries.
Top dressing
The berry needs feeding, which can be used as leaf humus, manure or peat.It is best to do this when the shoots begin to bear fruit, since the plant needs nutrients even more, the source of which is only the soil. We offer you one of the fertilizer recipes: take 3 kg of manure, add 6 g of potassium and nitrogen and 4 g of phosphorus. You should use 1.5 kg of this mixture per 1 m² of soil.
Garter
You can increase the yield of raspberries by tying up the bushes. We recommend using a trellis for this. Often, due to the weight of the fruit, the branches end up on the ground, and the berries do not receive enough light and heat, and they also get dirty. This will also make it easier for you to harvest and care for the plant.
Wintering
Prepare raspberry bushes for winter. The yield depends, among other things, on how well you prepare the plant for winter: in October, we recommend removing all the leaves, pressing the shoots to the soil with some heavy object, and insulating varieties that are not resistant to frost. During the winter, make sure that the roots of the plant are covered with a sufficiently thick layer of snow.
Rest
And the last piece of advice - do not dig the soil under the plant, as this can damage the roots. The yield will drop significantly. It is better to mulch - add straw, sawdust, manure, peat. This will help retain moisture in the soil and prevent excessive weed growth.
Well, that's probably all the rules for a good raspberry yield. Remember that the end result depends on how carefully you look after your garden plants.Choose the “right” varieties, trusting only reliable sellers, find a suitable place and follow all the above recommendations!
