A dishwasher can easily deal with mountains of dirty dishes, but its use costs a pretty penny. To reduce costs and be sure of the quality of the cleaning agent, we suggest making your own dishwasher detergents.
Soap and soda gel
This recipe requires water, a piece of laundry soap, and soda ash . Boil 1 liter of water, pour 50 grams of soap shavings and soda ash into a saucepan. For a pleasant aroma, add a few drops of any essential oil. All ingredients should be completely dissolved. The result will be a gel, it is also suitable for the washing machine.
Tablets from soda and salt
Dosed products are easier to use. To make dishwasher tablets you will need:
- 2 parts of regular soda;
- 1 part of water;
- 1 part of salt;
- 0.5 parts of citric acid.
Heat half of the soda on a baking sheet in the oven for 30 minutes (temperature 200 degrees). After this treatment, it is easier to form tablets from soda.
Mix dry ingredients in a container and add a little water. The mixture will begin to foam. Wait until the foam settles and add liquid again. Gradually pour in all the water.
Mix the resulting mass until smooth and place in ice molds. Leave to dry for half an hour. The tablets are ready for use. It is better to store them in a tightly closed container.
Tablets made from washing powder and soda
The composition of cleaning agents is not very different from each other.Therefore, children's washing powder is suitable for dishes (it fights protein and grease stains better). Add 150 grams of soda and a little water to 350 grams of powder to make the mixture plastic. Mix thoroughly and form into tablets using an ice cube tray.
Tablets of soda, borax and magnesia
This recipe uses ingredients that are not as easy to find as the previous ones.
The composition will include:
- 150 grams of soda;
- 500 g of magnesia;
- 200 g borax;
- citric acid or lemon juice.
Combine all dry ingredients into a homogeneous mass and add lemon juice (citric acid dissolved in water). Wait until the mixture stops foaming and pour into molds.
Such tablets should be dried in a dark place with minimal humidity. Store the product in an airtight container.
Tablets made from powder, soda and dish soap
Simple preparation and affordable ingredients are the main differences of this recipe. Mix 800 grams of washing powder with 180 grams of soda and add 20 grams of dish soap. Mix everything and form tablets.
This composition works well in warm and cold water (no higher than 40 degrees).
Glycerin tablets
Glycerin can be added to washing powder tablets. The composition will be as follows:
- 200 grams of powder;
- 45 grams of soda ash;
- 5 grams of glycerin.
Mix powder and soda, add glycerin. Mix until smooth and pour into molds.
When forming homemade dishwasher tablets, keep an eye on the finished portion size. The tablet should fit easily into the appropriate compartment.
