Cleaning home flowers is one of the most important conditions in caring for them. In order for plants to have a beautiful appearance, it is necessary to constantly maintain them regularly - clean them from dirt and dust.

In fact, plant contamination can spoil not only their appearance, but also attract the attention of household pests to the plants - since such an environment is ideal for their spread.
As a rule, people use indoor plants as decoration for their home, but plants can be not only beautiful decorations - they provide many benefits as they act as air filters. They improve indoor air quality. But in order for indoor plants to perform this function, it is necessary to keep them in good condition - feed them with fertilizers, monitor the condition of the soil, protect them from frost and direct sunlight so as not to burn the leaves. Keeping foliage clean is also an important aspect of the plant's visual appeal and health, as due to its filtering function, it attracts large amounts of dust and dirt from the air.
There are several options for cleaning plants from accumulated contaminants, as a rule, these include wiping the foliage, spraying the plant with a spray bottle, or washing the foliage in the shower (so-called showering).
When carrying out hygienic procedures with house plants, a number of rules should be followed:
- Flowers need to be cleaned regularly. As a rule, the intensity with which house flowers collect dust is due to their species differences, but on average it is better to clean once a week.
- When cleaning house plants, it is necessary to wipe the foliage not only from the outside, but also from the inside, since a lot of dirt also accumulates there.
- When washing plant foliage in the shower, it is necessary to protect the soil. This can be done by covering the soil with a plastic bag or cling film, or when washing, try to cover the soil with your hand so that a large amount of water does not fall on it.
- After wiping the foliage or washing it in the shower, in no case should you place them on a cold windowsill and allow drafts, because this can lead to easy freezing of the wet plant, its rotting and death. It is better to dry wet leaves of home flowers in a warm place.
- When wiping plants, this should be done with soft rags or sponges. Using a harsher cleaning product (such as a toothbrush) is suitable for plants with a rough texture, usually cacti. In other cases, cleaning should be carried out using more gentle means.
- Wiping the leaves should be done with a well-wrung out cloth or sponge, because if they are very wet, this will not help clean the leaves, but will only smear dirt on them and leave stains.
- You need to wash the plants with warm water; room temperature is best. Cleaning with cold or hot water can cause significant damage to the plant and lead to its death.
In fact, the rules for cleaning plants are not complicated; you just need to clean the flowers from dust and dirt regularly. This takes very little time, but the “pets” will thank you very much for this, with their blooming appearance and maintaining clean air in the house.
