  • After 2 hours, wash off the layer with a sponge and detergent.

Vinegar and lemon

To prepare the mixture, it is better to take regular table vinegar 9% and dilute it in a 1:1 ratio, and if you take apple cider vinegar, then its proportion must be doubled:

  • mix lemon juice and table vinegar in equal proportions;
  • moisten pieces of gauze (bandage) or wet wipes in the resulting mixture and wrap hard-to-reach places on the plumbing (bends, joints of parts);
  • apply to the remaining parts using a regular kitchen sponge;
  • After 1-2 hours, rinse off the applied solution with warm water.

Calcium gluconate and lemon juice

Calcium acts as a sorbent here, its cost is cheap and it is available in any pharmacy:

  • crush the tablets in a coffee grinder;
  • Add lemon juice and a couple of tablespoons of detergent to the resulting powder, you should get a paste;
  • Apply a thin layer on the rust for an hour;
  • rinse with a sponge soaked in warm water.

Soda and citrus peels

This method is suitable for flat surfaces of the bathroom and sink, but it requires the use of force:

  • in a separate container, sprinkle baking soda with warm water and apply to the rusty surface;
  • The peels of lemon, orange, or grapefruit must be moistened in warm water and thoroughly rub the rusty surfaces on top of the baking soda.

Organic acids

Oxalic acid should be used with caution and should not be left on surfaces for a long time so that it does not corrode plumbing parts:

  • Mix dry oxalic and citric acids in equal proportions;
  • add some warm water;
  • moisten the sponge in the resulting product and rub the rusty areas and limescale for 5-7 minutes;
  • After treatment, rinse everything off with warm water.

Cola and juice

Each component is poured into separate containers and used alternately:

  • Pour Coca-Cola into a spray bottle and spray all rusty surfaces, leave for 30 minutes;
  • then spray the same surface with lemon juice from a second spray bottle, leaving for 15-20 minutes;
  • At the end of the cleaning procedure, rinse everything off with warm water.
