A large amount of trash in a person’s home creates discomfort. This is the opinion reached by 80-year-old artist from Sweden Margaret Magnussen. She reflected her views on the process of putting things in order in a book about pre-death cleaning. The bestselling author claims that in fact the work is devoted to slightly different concepts and has little to do with death. The ideas of the author of the book were received with great enthusiasm by the public in Western Europe and America.
Make complex things simple
The main idea of the book is that people accumulate things during their lives that lie in closets and pantries for years. The owners themselves forget about their existence. After the death of the owner of the home, the heirs will have to deal with all this belongings.
The author of the book believes that people are obliged to put things in order themselves: it is unmerciful to force relatives to sort through the trash left by the deceased.
A way to get rid of the past
Even young, healthy people can conduct an audit and throw out things that remind of the past and pull us back. Pre-mortem cleaning is a good psychological move that allows you to relive memories and understand yourself. It has been noticed that when a person throws away things that remind of unpleasant events, he lets go of the situation and forgets the grievances.
Indeed, why keep the watch and bracelet that your ex-husband gave? It’s easier to sell such a thing so that it doesn’t jog your memory.Old things not only take up space, they exude negative energy, stir up memory, and hurt the soul.
The art of creating a comfortable living environment
The author of the work does not call for an ascetic lifestyle. She suggests harmoniously organizing the space around you. It is difficult for a Russian to rebuild his worldview, since Soviet people were taught by their parents to keep things that might come in handy someday.
In fact, scattered cups, old dresses, broken televisions (they can still be repaired) are stored in closets.
Competent opinion
Properly organized house cleaning can harmonize the soul. Sometimes it is enough to wash the floors, wipe the dust, and serious problems no longer seem unsolvable. Psychologists believe that when a person puts the space around him in order, he simultaneously comes to harmony within himself. Only things that evoke positive emotions should be kept in the house. Mess and hoarding are a sign of unresolved problems from which the home owner hides behind things.
