Not everyone can boast of a spacious living space. We constantly have to deal with a lack of space even for essential things. It seems that the ceiling is pressing, and the walls are about to collide with each other. But even the smallest apartment can be made visually larger by resorting to some methods.

Mirrors
The peculiarity of small rooms is that they have few windows. We get a small room with a minimum of light. And here mirrors come to the rescue. You can use them to decorate a small apartment so as to visually expand the space in different ways:
- hang a mirror opposite the window;
- purchase a mirror panel;
- decorate the wall with mirror slabs partially or completely from floor to ceiling;
- replace furniture doors with mirrors.
Any mirror surfaces give the same effect, but, of course, less pronounced. Ceiling with a mirror effect or furniture surface. This also includes the metal surface of household appliances in the kitchen or chrome-plated furniture legs.
Attention to the ceiling
An original technique that allows you to expand the space. You can continue the design of one of the walls on the ceiling or decorate it in a color that contrasts with the entire room. A ceiling that attracts attention distracts from the small area of the room.
Unity of color
A small apartment, decorated in one color scheme, seems larger than it actually is.Light shades or even white will look most advantageous, which can always be diluted with a couple of accessories. Don't forget about the color of the floor. It must also be light, otherwise the dark borders that outline the walls along the bottom will negate all efforts.
Unifying space
You can visually enlarge a small apartment by removing walls or part of them. Replace the doors with glass sliding partitions. Then the gaze will not rest on a blank wall, but will pass through the glass, going deeper into space. This may seem impractical, especially if there are children in the house, but the right furniture and proper zoning will more than compensate for everything.
Functional furniture
The ideal solution for a small space is built-in cabinet furniture from floor to ceiling, allowing you to fit everything you need. It is better to make doors from glass or glossy material, and you can also make them mirrored.
A transparent dining group made of glass or plastic will look very good in a small living room or kitchen.
It is better to replace a massive bed with a transforming sofa. This will allow you to gain a couple of square meters while you are awake. Poufs can serve as a coffee table or additional seating.
Flowing curtains
A small space always needs additional light and air. Transparent flowing materials in light shades, such as organza, cambric, taffeta, will cope with this task perfectly. The shade can be either darker or lighter than the walls. Geometric designs are also acceptable. Horizontal stripes on window textiles will expand the space, and vertical stripes will raise the ceilings.
The cornice should be located directly under the ceiling. This visually increases the windows and the space itself.
A small apartment does not mean cramped. Small spaces have a special atmosphere and advantages. And there are at least 6 ways to make your home more comfortable.
