4 ways to feed zucchini for a big harvest

Growing zucchini in summer cottages in various regions of Russia has long been common. This vegetable is especially popular. Consuming zucchini allows you to get a lot of useful substances and microelements from a dietary product.

Zucchini is a vegetable crop that does not require special care and is able to bear fruit all three summer months. However, it is possible to get a good harvest in the shortest possible time by using fertilizer that enriches the soil with minerals and essential elements (phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium, nitrogen). Of course, you can buy a ready-made mixture in a specialized store. But using folk methods of feeding will not only protect the harvest from excess, harmful nitrates and other chemical compounds, but also save money on their purchase. After all, many fertilizer ingredients can be found at home.

There are several simple recipes created by fans of zucchini. They are widely used in gardening, and have an effective effect on the active growth of the plant and an increase in crop volumes.

Feedings differ depending on the growth period in which the vegetable is at a certain moment. That is, at the flowering stage, one feeding is required, and at the fruiting stage, a completely different one. Some of the folk recipes are presented below:

Manure

Using manure as a fertilizer is a traditional fertilizing method that can be applied before planting the zucchini, for example, in the fall or spring. In this case, it is better to take manure that is slightly or completely dry. Cow, horse, pig, goat droppings are suitable. They can also mulch the soil.

Fresh manure should be diluted with water, and only in this form should the plant be fertilized before and during its flowering. Chicken, duck, and goose droppings are suitable for fresh manure. Thanks to the introduction of manure into the soil, it is enriched with compounds necessary for zucchini, which affects the active growth of leaves and further fruiting;

Fertilization with iodine

The growth and quality of leaves of a plant just beginning to develop improves. Iodine promotes abundant flowering of future zucchini.

To obtain this fertilizer, you need to add about 40 drops of iodine to a ten-liter bucket of water and mix everything thoroughly. You can fertilize the plant with this solution both after planting (after 1-2 weeks) and during flowering.

Wood ash

Fertilizing with wood ash diluted in water at a ratio of 30 grams per 10-liter bucket will increase productivity by more than 50%. Watering the plant should be done already at the fruiting stage directly under the bush, without touching the leaves and the vegetable itself.

The use of dry ash is allowed. But in order for the root system to receive all the beneficial substances, it is necessary to pre-moisten the soil;

Yeast

The solution obtained from yeast has a beneficial effect on the growth of the stem and the acceleration of the extraction of useful minerals from the soil. This feeding gives the fruits the necessary elements to help them actively grow.

To obtain the fertilizer, you need a 3-liter container filled with slightly warmed water, per 35 grams of yeast and 1 cup of sugar. The ingredients should ferment within 5 hours if the container is placed in a sunny, well-warmed place. Then the resulting solution is mixed with ordinary water in a 10 liter bucket. All that remains is to generously water the zucchini with this fertilizer.
