A rose will decorate any garden. The culture is distinguished by attractive characteristics and long flowering. Despite the fact that roses are a capricious crop, this does not stop gardeners. A properly prepared planting pit is of particular importance in the process of growing a plant. In order for the bush to grow quickly, you should take into account some recommendations when preparing the hole.
Planting hole depth
When preparing the planting hole, it is necessary to take into account the size of the roots. The width of the hole should be at least 40 cm, depth - 40–50 cm. Experts recommend adding another 15 cm to the size of the roots. Such a hole will be optimal for root development and will help the young plant quickly take root. However, if an adult rose is transplanted, the bush must be planted together with a lump of earth. In this case, the depth of the planting hole for the bush should be at least 60 cm.
Drainage
The accumulation of water can lead to the death of the rose, especially if the plant is planted on heavy or clay soils. Small pebbles should be used as drainage. The drainage layer should be at least 10 cm.
Priming
To ensure that the plant does not experience nutrient deficiency, it is necessary to prepare the soil. You can use a purchased substrate intended for roses, or prepare the mixture yourself. To prepare it yourself, mix 3 parts of turf with 2 parts of humus.Add 1 part coarse sand. Mix the resulting composition thoroughly.
Fertilizers
Fertilizers are necessary for the normal development of roses. After laying the drainage layer, it is recommended to pour out a glass of wood ash. This feeding will gradually saturate the bush with nutrients for growth. It is necessary to add 100 grams of complex fertilizers to the soil intended for filling the hole, mix thoroughly and only then fill the planting hole.
Watering and site selection
You need to prepare the planting hole for the rose 2 days before planting. A suitable place for planting is a hill in the garden. Groundwater should not be located too close to the surface.
After preparing the hole, it must be filled a quarter full of nutritious soil and watered generously with warm water. After this, you can plant the rose bush in a new place of growth.
Proper planting of a rose allows you to get a healthy bush that will regularly delight you with abundant flowering. When preparing the planting pit, you need to ensure that the crop receives the required amount of oxygen. Therefore, it is recommended to use light soil with plenty of nutrients.
