5 recipes for spring feeding of peonies as a guarantee of abundant flowering

During flowering, peonies delight us with lush huge flowers, and many varieties also have a charming aroma. These beautifully flowering bushes are loved, among other things, because they do not require much care. However, if you want to get richly flowering bushes every year, they need to be fed, starting in early spring.

Mineral feeding

As soon as the snow has melted and the very tops of the shoot cones appear from the ground, you can begin feeding. For the first feeding, take a complex fertilizer for flowering plants. This type of fertilizer is good because, in addition to nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, it also contains microelements necessary for the plant. You can take cheaper options - ammonium nitrate, nitroammophoska, urea, superphosphate.

When applying early, it is better to apply the fertilizer in dry form at some distance from the stems, ideally before the rain: the moisture will soak the granules and deliver useful elements to the roots.

Liquid mineral fertilizer

If the stems have already appeared from the ground by 10-15 cm, you can carry out liquid fertilizer - dissolve the fertilizer in water and pour the bushes or make a hole around the bush and pour the solution into this hole. In this case, potassium permanganate can be added to the mineral fertilizer in the solution - both as an additional microelement and as a soil disinfectant. For 10 liters of water, 10 g (1 tablespoon) of ammonium nitrate and 1/3 teaspoon of potassium permanganate are enough.
