Usually, tomatoes are grown in greenhouses either in order to obtain an earlier harvest, or in regions with difficult climatic conditions - a short summer period and the likelihood of cold snaps.

At the same time, gardeners think that in greenhouses the yield of tomatoes will be high, no matter what. However, when planting and growing tomatoes indoors, there are some nuances, without which you can be left without a harvest at all.
The main errors are listed below.
Wrong choice of variety.
Tomato varieties that are intended to be grown only in open ground (or vice versa) are often planted in greenhouses. In this case, the vegetable crop is not able to fully reveal its capabilities, and as a result, fruiting will be low.
Thick greenhouse film
Such covering material does not transmit sunlight well, as a result, the process of photosynthesis in the above-ground parts of plants slows down, and the formation of nutrients is worse. As a result, the bushes do not receive enough nutrition, their growth, flowering, ovary formation and fruit ripening slow down.
The correct light and temperature conditions are not created
For good growth and fruiting, tomatoes require illumination for 14-15 hours, and night temperatures should not be lower than +8 - +9°C. If such a regime is not created in the greenhouse, this will negatively affect the condition of the vegetable crop.
Planting too mature seedlings
Such seedlings need to be prepared before planting in greenhouse conditions - remove the buds that appear, grow roots. Also, such seedlings require abundant watering. If such measures are not carried out, then the tomato bushes will be frail, the main shoot will be brittle and thin, and the yield will be low.
Frequent watering
Tomatoes do not like high humidity; in such conditions, various types of rot or late blight may appear on the bushes. Therefore, you need to water the vegetable crop once every 6-8 days, and drops of water should not accumulate on the foliage.
Belated stepsoning
Stepchildren should be removed when their length is no more than 4 cm; stumps should not be left - pathogenic microorganisms can get into them and provoke the development of the disease.
Incorrect formation of bushes
In growing tomato bushes, you should pinch the tops in time and remove excess side shoots. Otherwise, an increase in the vegetative mass of tomatoes can lead to a decrease in the formation of flowers.
There is no prevention of possible diseases and the appearance of “harmful” bugs
You should regularly carry out preventive treatment of bushes against possible diseases and pest attacks. It is better to prevent diseases than to treat them.
Use for planting seeds from tomato hybrids
Seeds from hybrids do not retain the positive characteristics of their parents, so it is not recommended to harvest them.
Taking into account all the above mistakes and avoiding them when growing tomatoes in greenhouse conditions, vegetable growers will definitely receive large yields from this vegetable crop.
