One of the mandatory measures is fertilizing during budding, which is necessary to enrich it with useful substances, protect against dangerous pest diseases and to obtain abundant flowering. Traditional fertilizers will help achieve a good effect, but only on condition that they are used correctly.
Ash
Wood ash is rich in substances such as nitrogen and magnesium, which are responsible for the active growth of plant mass. You can use it in two different ways:
- The component should be cleaned of impurities and, if necessary, crushed to a powder state. Apply under roses - approximately 1-1.5 cups per bush.
- Prepare the solution. To do this, fill the bucket a third with ash, then fill it to the very brim with hot water and leave for 2 days, after which you need to strain. Water the plant with the resulting solution, about 1 liter for each bush.
It is important that the fertilizer does not get on the leaves and stem.
Soda
Baking soda is a good fertilizer for old plants. It is a source of calcium, which causes the rejuvenation process and promotes abundant flowering. To prepare the solution, do the following:
- You need to dilute soda in water - 1 teaspoon of the component per 5 liters of water is enough. Mix the contents until smooth.
- Add 1 teaspoon of magnesium sulfate to the solution.
- Add ½ teaspoon of ammonia.
This fertilizer can be used to thoroughly spray roses in the garden. But it is not recommended to use it as root feeding.
Chicken droppings
Chicken droppings are rich in all the substances that are necessary for the full ripening of roses - iron, magnesium, nitrogen and potassium. A concentrate based on it is prepared as follows:
- The litter should be mixed with water in a ratio of 1 to 20.
- Cover the contents with a lid and leave for 2-2.5 weeks.
- Dilute the infusion with water 10 times.
Water each flower generously at the root with the resulting fertilizer - 10 liters per 1 square meter. meter. It is better to do this immediately after the first buds begin to form.
Mineral mixtures
One of the best fertilizer options is ready-made mineral mixtures. You can prepare them yourself by mixing the following ingredients:
- ammonium nitrate – 15 g;
- superphosphate – 30 g;
- potassium sulfate – 10 g.
Mix the resulting powder well and distribute evenly under each bush. You can use it as a solution - dissolve it in a bucket of water.
Feeding roses during budding is a mandatory procedure necessary for abundant flowering. It is better to carry it out in cloudy and windless weather. If there is heavy rain after watering or spraying, it is recommended to repeat the procedure.
