The cost of detergents and the quality of washing often do not give the desired result. On the contrary, after washing, things become dull, an unpleasant odor appears, and the fabric itself loses its softness. The reasons for this may be hard water, plaque and scale in the drum, or bacteria living in the damp environment of the washing machine.
Salt
If the water is hard or a lot of detergent is used when washing, the laundry will quickly lose color and become rougher. To prevent this, add 5 tablespoons of salt to the washing powder. You can directly sprinkle it on your clothes in the drum.
Salt helps give clothes a fresh look by rinsing detergent out of fabrics well. Be sure to run the washing machine with an additional rinse to wash out salt particles.
Soda
An assistant for severe dirt and unpleasant odors, as well as a bleach, is soda. 2 tablespoons are mixed with laundry detergent and, with an additional rinse cycle, help clean clothes. If things are very dirty, then the number of spoons can be increased to 5.
Clothes must be rinsed thoroughly so that after washing there are no white streaks left on them.
Due to the fact that soda helps fight unpleasant odors, it can be added during washing to prevent mustiness on things caused by scale or soap solution sediment in the drum. The higher the water temperature, the more effective the soda works.
Aspirin
A product that works as a bleach and detergent during washing. To get rid of heavy soiling, 6-7 crushed tablets are used, added to washing powder or to clothes in the drum. The mode should be selected for at least 1 hour at a temperature of 40 °C.
To whiten clothes, just crush 2-3 Aspirin tablets and mix them with washing powder or gel. Run in the mode that is optimal for the selected things.
Vinegar
Vinegar can be used as a stain remover, bleach, and conditioner replacement. For this, acid with a concentration of 9% is used, but not higher.
To whiten things or remove stains, vinegar is poured into the powder compartment in a volume of 200 ml. If you pour 100 ml of vinegar into the air conditioner compartment, you can freshen things, ridding them of extraneous unpleasant odors.
After washing, things usually have a sour smell, but this quickly disappears during drying. Vinegar can also soften laundry if you add it instead of fabric softener during rinsing. Due to its ability to remove fungi and bacteria, it will ensure tissue disinfection.
Lemon acid
Citric acid is suitable for cotton and linen. If yellow tints appear on white items of these materials, then you need to add 1 teaspoon of granular substance to the washing powder and run as usual. You can also use lemon juice. For this purpose, use 1-2 fruits. The juice should be squeezed into the compartment for washing powder or, if available, for bleach.
Essential oils
To make things smell nice after washing, it is enough to use 6-8 drops of essential oils. It is better to mix them with detergents. In this case, you can drop up to 10 drops on 1 tablespoon of sea salt and add to the washing powder. You should not choose coloring oils, it is better to take transparent ones, otherwise you can ruin the clothes.
These options can partially or completely replace specialized products and improve the quality of the process. Do not forget about caution when using any method. And to increase the effectiveness of the selected product, you can soak the laundry in it before using the washing machine.
