Fighting dust takes up a significant portion of every housewife's time. As soon as you clean up, after a day or two all surfaces are again covered with a layer of dust. And these are only visible places, but how much of it collects in corners and under furniture.

The accumulation of tiny particles of dirt, hair, skin, dandruff, pollen, and fabric fibers negatively affects health and, in some cases, causes allergies. Therefore, it is better to prevent its accumulation. It is impossible to completely eliminate dust, but you can significantly reduce its amount.
Regular wet cleaning
It’s easier to keep your house clean every day than to do a thorough cleaning of a shabby room once a month. Wet cleaning will not only help get rid of dust, but also freshen the air. It will take a quarter of an hour to wipe the floors with a damp mop and remove dust. It is enough to do this two to three times a week, and the effect will be noticeable immediately.
Microfiber cloth
One correct rag will effectively replace a dozen ordinary ones. Thanks to special fibers, a microfiber cloth not only collects the maximum amount of dust, but also holds it. Before cleaning, the rag should be slightly dampened. And wash it immediately after cleaning. You should not use conditioner after washing; softened fabric will be worse at collecting and retaining dust.
Properly store books and magazines
Newspapers, magazines, books collect dust, and over time, the worn-out pages themselves become a source of dust.Books should be stored in locked cabinets, and magazines and newspapers should be disposed of whenever possible. If you need them, it is better to store them in boxes or bags. Another option is to allocate a room for archives that is used least often. Then the dust will not spread throughout the apartment.
Cleaning bedding and upholstered furniture
Upholstery of sofas, poufs and armchairs, blankets and pillows are another category of dust collectors. Every time we sit down on the sofa or fluff up the pillows, we raise a cloud of dust into the air. To avoid this, upholstered furniture should be vacuumed once every two weeks. Blankets and pillows should be beaten and aired once a month, and washed or dry cleaned once a year. Change bed linen every 7-10 days.
Get rid of rubble and trinkets
Figurines, candles, and souvenirs standing on open shelves quickly accumulate dust. But cleaning all these small things takes a lot of time. It is advisable to get rid of unnecessary trinkets. Those that are valuable or valuable as a memory are best placed behind glass or put in a container.
Reduce the amount of textiles
Curtains, bedspreads, capes, rugs, blankets, fabric tablecloths, in addition to collecting dust, also produce it. Once on the surface, dirt particles quickly penetrate inside and settle in the fibers. It is advisable to minimize daily textile use. For example, lay out an elegant tablecloth only before guests arrive or replace curtains with blinds.
Maintain order in closets
Clothing is another source of dust. The fewer things in the closet, the more freely they hang, the access of air is unlimited, and there is less dust.A periodic audit of your wardrobe and removal of unnecessary things from it will add a lot of points to the cleanliness of your home. It is better to store seasonal items in boxes or bags. And the inside of the cabinet should be wet cleaned from time to time.
Take care of animals
If pets live at home, they also contribute to the appearance of dust. This is wool, skin particles, dandruff. In order to minimize damage, animals must be thoroughly combed regularly. It is also necessary from time to time to wet clean houses, beds and wash bedding.
Ventilate properly
The apartment must be ventilated. But remember that a significant part of the polluting particles enters the premises from the street. Therefore, in order to fill the rooms with truly fresh air, ventilation is carried out during or immediately after rain. Another option is to use ventilation devices with filters.
Humidify the air
Maintaining normal humidity will help to significantly reduce the amount of dust in the apartment. When choosing a humidifier, you need to correctly calculate the square footage of the room in order to achieve the optimal effect.
