The carrion of fruit trees upsets gardeners - the harvest is lost! But in principle, a certain number of apples falling from the branches is normal for trees, and they do not need to be thrown away. Because you can make something useful from apple carrion.
Dry fertilizer
The easiest way is to collect and chop the apples, mix them with a small amount of manure or fallen leaves. In this form, it is recommended to apply them under berry bushes - raspberries, strawberries, mixing them with the surface layer of soil. This simple fertilizer supplies the bushes with a lot of nutrients that help strengthen them before the upcoming winter.
Many gardeners are confused by this method due to the risks that pathogenic bacteria and fungi contained in the carrion will begin to multiply, disrupt the healthy microbiological balance of the soil, and provoke the development of any diseases. To prevent this from happening, when adding apple carrion in dry form, it is enough to lightly sprinkle the soil with urea, which prevents the development of harmful microflora.
Liquid fertilizer
You can water late vegetables with apple infusion - this makes them grow by leaps and bounds, and also bear unusually large fruits. To prepare a liquid product from carrion, you need to fill 1/3 of the container with spoiled fruit, fill it to the top with water, loosely cover the container with a lid and leave in the sun for 2 weeks.
After a specified period of time, a nutrient liquid will appear in the container as a result of fermentation processes, which is diluted with water in proportions of 1:10 before watering the beds.
Compost with grass
The peculiarity of apple compost is the speed of its preparation - about 3 months, but to speed up the process for another couple of weeks and obtain a more decomposed fertilizer, you can add special store-bought products to it.
In general, its preparation consists of simple sequential steps. The bottom of the container or pit should be lined with small branches or straw. Chopped apples are poured on top, and then the fruit carrion is combined with layers of earth and mown grass.
In order for the compost heap to maintain the required level of moisture, it should be covered with plastic wrap and also periodically watered with water, combining this with tedding.
It is important to emphasize that for crops that do not like high acidity, it is recommended to add ash to fertilizers with apples, with the exception of compost, to neutralize the acidity that these fruits provide.
