Laminate is considered a popular floor covering today. It is no secret that it has many advantages: wear resistance, durability, ease of maintenance. But many housewives have a small problem when cleaning (wet) - stains on the floor. This is most noticeable on dark coating options. To eliminate stains and prevent their occurrence, experienced housewives use small tricks.
Why do marks remain on laminate flooring after cleaning?
The main reasons for divorce include:
- Use of unsuitable cleaning equipment. High-quality floor cleaning is performed using special mops and microfiber cloths. Since such a coating is afraid of moisture, it should be wiped dry after cleaning.
- Using the wrong detergents. Cleaning laminate flooring requires only special liquids, not universal ones. The old folk method has worked well: grate laundry soap on a fine grater and dilute it in water to obtain a soapy liquid (medium concentration). The laminate is wiped with a cloth that has been previously wetted and wrung out well. The result will be excellent.
- Overdose of detergents. Excess detergents, as a rule, accumulate on the floor surface, which forms stains.
Important information! Before using a new detergent, it is recommended to apply it in an inconspicuous place.If the floor does not develop any damage, it can be used to clean the entire floor covering.
Little tricks from the professionals
To ensure that there are no traces or streaks left on the laminate after cleaning, the following recommendations should be taken into account:
- Dry cleaning (with a vacuum cleaner or brush) is performed first to remove large debris. The latter will interfere with washing and may damage the surface of the laminate. Wet cleansing begins only after heavy contamination has been eliminated. Moreover, the rag should be washed in clean water before the next immersion in the prepared washing solution.
- If possible, open the windows in the room. In such conditions, the water quickly evaporates, and no streaks remain on the laminate.
- Hot water (at least 40 °C) is used for washing. The higher the temperature of the cleaning liquid, the fewer streaks there will be on the washed flooring.
- To soften very hard tap water, add vinegar (1:20). Then the washed surface will be perfectly clean and shiny. This kills bacteria, viruses, most mold (with spores), and eliminates odor.
- After drying, the laminate must be wiped with a dry and soft cloth. If necessary, you can additionally spray the solution with detergent. This procedure completely removes remaining marks and stains.
