With the help of foam tiles you can easily change the interior. Moreover, even unprepared people can glue it to the ceiling. It is light weight, so it sticks well. The patterns and reliefs are varied, so before you buy such a ceiling tile, you need to think about where exactly it will be the ceiling, what kind of contamination is possible in that room and whether it will be difficult to care for. The tiles are considered waterproof, but simply wiping them down may not be enough.

Routine care
Caring for foam ceilings is quite simple if they do not have stains or other severe contamination. This is done using a vacuum cleaner and a regular soft nozzle. You need to set the vacuum cleaner to a mode in which it will not be able to tear off the tiles, but will be strong enough to collect dust in the terrain.
Cleaning brush
Many housewives use a special brush for dry cleaning instead of a vacuum cleaner. Its bristles attract dust, preventing it from flying away. It is good specifically for tiles with a strongly pronounced relief pattern.
Wet cleaning
If the tile is so dirty that it can be seen with the naked eye, it’s time to wash it. To remove dust and dirt from the ceiling, you will need warm water and detergent, this can be dishwashing liquid, as well as a soft foam sponge. The tiles are washed with this solution, with a slight squeeze of the sponge, so as not to flood the entire room. This composition easily removes common contaminants.
Removing dirt with foam
If the stains are ordinary, but quite strong, then they need to be soaked. Tiles do not always react well to water, and it is not recommended to get them too wet. Therefore, the detergent whips into foam. There should not be a lot of water in order for the foam to be strong. The foam is then applied to the ceiling. Particular attention is paid to the relief recess. After a few minutes it can be removed with a clean damp cloth. After removal, wipe with a dry napkin or cloth to avoid streaks from residual moisture.
Cleaning the ceiling in the kitchen
The kitchen is a place where the ceilings are exposed to steam, grease and often tobacco. All this leads not only to yellowness, but also to a sticky, greasy coating. There are 2 ways to deal with such pollution.
If the tiles in the kitchen are white, then not only detergent, but also bleach is added to the water. You don't need to pour a lot, 1-2 caps are enough.
The second method is also suitable for colored tiles. Add a tablespoon of salt to 3 liters of water. A sponge is dipped into this solution, wrung out slightly, and the process of scrubbing the ceiling begins. The method is quite labor-intensive, but in order to remove the grease without harming the tiles, you will have to use it.
Removing old stains
It happens that your hands just can’t reach the ceiling. And when it was finally his turn, he managed to clean the entire ceiling, but several stains could not be wiped off. In this case, only alcohol will help. Old stains that cannot be removed by any means should be rubbed with a cloth or sponge soaked in alcohol.
For washing and removing dust on the ceiling, do not use stiff bristle brushes or metal sponges.
If you carry out dry cleaning in a timely manner and periodically lightly wet, then problems with stains will not arise. And the less mechanical impact on the foam ceiling, the longer it will last.
