Outdated things in the house: what should you get rid of first?

In Italy and Japan, there is a long-standing custom of throwing away outdated, unnecessary things before the New Year. Temperamental Italians throw them out of the windows, and reserved Japanese carefully remove from the house everything that they have not used within 12 months. We should also adopt these useful habits, adjusted for the Slavic mentality.

What to throw away

It is very convenient to time the throwing away of outdated items for general cleaning before the New Year. This way, in one fell swoop, you can get rid of everything that has the “taste” of past years, put your apartment in order and fill it with new positive energy.

The first thing you need to do is get rid of the following things:

  • "grandmother's" crystal. We are talking about cheap stamped products that are already many years old. They have long gone out of fashion and not only look outdated, but give the entire interior an unpleasant retro touch. Nowadays there are many fashionable and stylish glass and crystal vases, glasses and shot glasses that have a modern, attractive appearance;
  • unfashionable clothes, shoes, accessories. The idea that fashion is cyclical and in 10 to 15 years you will wear it again is deceptive. Even if the fashion of the future begins to use motifs from the past, there will be no exact copying, so something that is outdated today will remain so tomorrow. The only thing that deserves long-term storage is high-quality works from well-known major brands. Over time, they acquire vintage status and are worth much more than at the time of their creation;

  • carpet runners. This type of carpet has not been in fashion for a long time. The paths spoil the interior, giving it an inappropriate hotel look. This applies to products with colorful, bright floral or ethnic motifs. Beautiful floors are in fashion - stone, tile or wood, and paths hide them and also actively accumulate dust. These things are outdated in terms of aesthetics and practicality, so let them remain in hotel corridors, and not in our homes;
  • incandescent light bulbs. They are also not from our time, because they have been replaced by more efficient energy-saving halogen and LED lamps and fixtures. They not only look fashionable and modern, but also help save the family budget;

  • plastic bags. They are gradually becoming a thing of the past, as they are rapidly littering the planet. At home, you can store food in containers, and go shopping with a durable and shopper made of durable natural materials - linen, cotton, jute or hemp;
  • outdated appliances and consumer electronics. Unfortunately, home appliances are quickly becoming obsolete. This is especially true for gadgets - mobile phones, tablets, chargers, even computers and televisions. Every year, more advanced models of microwave ovens, toasters, smartphones, electric kettles and other accessories are released that make our lives better and more comfortable. If there are outdated appliances and devices in the house, you should mercilessly part with them, anyway, their life has come to an end, they can break at any moment.

By throwing away outdated things, you can improve the appearance of your home, open the way for positive energy, and at the same time understand that irrelevant objects and devices clog up space and interfere with future development.
