When a household item loses its appearance or wears out, many people prefer to get rid of it and buy a new one. But things, pieces of furniture can be given a new life and used in a different capacity. Here are some fun ways to use up old chairs.

Use as a flower bed
If the seat upholstery is worn out, it can be removed and a pot with indoor plants or a flower bed installed in the place of the former seat. You can either make a hole for the pot or attach the flower bed to the seat. If the back of the chair is curly, then climbing flowers will look very beautiful. And if you paint the frame of the chair, you will get an almost new and unusual piece of furniture.
Shop
This is a very interesting option that is not difficult to make and will look great. To do this you will need a couple of old chairs, a sheet of MDF from compressed wood and paint. It is necessary to remove the old seats, place them on an MDF sheet at a distance of a few centimeters from each other and outline the external contours for the new seat. Then, using a jigsaw, according to the measurements you made, you need to cut out the model and you will get a new, larger seat like for a bench. By attaching it to the frames of chairs standing next to each other, you will get a bench with a double back. All that remains is to paint everything in the chosen color and the bench is ready. You can attach the upholstery to the finished seat using a furniture stapler, and secure the upholstery material on top in the same way and then you will get a soft bench.
Ottoman
An old wooden chair can be easily converted into an ottoman. To do this, you need to saw off the back and cover the seat with soft fabric and foam. The legs can be painted and varnished. This way the chair will be completely transformed. And if you attach accessories to the ottoman, for example, trim it with beads or buttons along the edge, then it will sparkle with new colors.
Shelf
If you nail a chair to the wall, you get an unusual and functional shelf. In this case, you can use the entire chair, or you can use only the back. If you use your imagination, the shelf will turn out to be very original. You can paint the chair in new colors, screw it to the back of a hanger, or nail it upside down. In this capacity, the chair can be used either as a shelf for larger items, or as a clothes hanger.
Swing
If there is a garden near your house, then an old chair can make an excellent swing. The main thing is that the seat is strong and intact. The legs need to be sawed off or unscrewed, and holes must be drilled in the seat and a strong rope secured. Another option is to attach two boards to the bottom of the seat so that the edges stick out slightly on the sides. Make holes for the rope not in the seat itself, but on these protruding edges. Paint the finished swing chair, pre-treating and sanding the surface if necessary.
Of course, it’s not just chairs that can be remade in this way, and only some of the possible options are shown here. Any old furniture can be reused, the main thing is to use a little ingenuity and imagination, and the interior of the house will be transformed.
