A shaggy friend in the house is a joyful phenomenon. But the pleasure of communication is accompanied by marks on the carpet, which need to be removed regularly and quickly. Often you can get by with products available at home.
Wet cleaning of “surprises”
If your pet doesn't make it to the litter box or walk, the stain on the cover will create an unpleasant odor problem. It’s easy to get rid of this without resorting to purchasing expensive products. It is enough to dilute the vinegar with water in a 1:1 ratio and pour the stain on the product, after blotting it with paper towels. After half an hour, remove the vinegar with a sponge and cold water. Such coating treatment will prevent repeated marks from animals that find the smell of vinegar unpleasant.
Dry removal of traces of “crimes”
The housewife may be concerned that cleaning with vinegar will leave a stain on the carpet. In this case, regular baking soda will help. The stain left from the pet's "toilet" must first be blotted with paper towels or a rag, then sprinkled generously with soda, which will absorb all the liquid. After about 15 minutes of drying, collect the baking soda with a vacuum cleaner. You can use salt instead of soda. This method can also be used after treatment with vinegar.
You can sprinkle citric acid on a damp place. There is no need to wash it off, just vacuum it after a while.
Removing traces of vomit
No one is immune from such trouble. In this case, the vomit is quickly collected. The soiled product is sprayed with water and the moisture is collected with paper towels. Repeat several times. Then prepare a solution from two glasses of water, 1 tablespoon of salt, add the same amount of liquid soap, half a glass of vinegar and two tablespoons of alcohol. The resulting liquid is used to clean the surface where the vomit was removed. Then they are treated with clean water and covered with soda. After drying, vacuum it.
Removing wool from carpet
Before cleaning, you need to remove wool from other surfaces in the room, otherwise it will “fly” onto the already treated surface. Then you need to go through with a vacuum cleaner. This must be done at least every other day, otherwise the wool will become very tangled with the fibers of the coating and will be more difficult to remove. There are several methods you can use to deep clean your carpet:
- Walk over the surface with a wet broom or brush. This will help get rid of long hair. And the hairs deeply penetrated into the coating will rise. Now they are easier to remove with a vacuum cleaner.
- Clean the product with a pet brush. The process is labor-intensive, but it will get rid of short hair.
- A window scraper with a hard rubber edge will help you roll off the hair remaining from the vacuum cleaner from the surface.
- Spray fabric softener before cleaning. First dilute it with water in a 1:1 ratio. This will help make the wool softer and “separate” the coating from the fibers. Vacuum after a few minutes.
Carpets should be cleaned as often as possible. This makes it easier to get rid of pet hair and prevent allergies from occurring in family members. To avoid odor, liquids left by animals are removed very quickly. Then communication with your pet will leave only positive emotions.
