Unusual plastic options can be made with your own hands. You will need very little: plastic bottles, tools and materials that are found in every home, and a little free time. Energy-saving or LED lamps do not heat up, so there is no fear that the plastic shade will become deformed.
Matte dim night light
An original night light is made from empty kefir containers. Since the bottles are opaque, the light diffuses very well and does not dazzle the eyes.
You will need from 50 to 100 white bottles with a capacity of 0.5 liters, a heat gun and a lamp base. The number of bottles depends on the size of the lamp.
The bottles need to be glued together at a slight angle. Apply glue slightly above the bottom. Gradually form a ball or ellipse around the lamp base.
White cloud of flowers
A lampshade made of embossed bottoms, painted white, will refresh and brighten the room.
It is necessary to prepare relief bottoms of different sizes in the amount of 140-180 pieces. You also need a stationery knife, a heat gun and paint (acrylic or in a spray can).
Cut off the bottom, grabbing the sides by about three centimeters. Paint the bottoms white. Some don’t need to be painted, it will look more interesting. Fasten the resulting “flowers” together with hot glue, forming a dome. Leave a hole in the middle to thread the light bulb socket through.
Plastic serpentine
The shadows from this lampshade create intertwining multi-colored stripes on the walls.
You need to prepare one transparent bottle with a capacity of two liters and 2-3 colored ones. Also a stationery knife, scissors and tape.
At the base, cut the neck to the size of the cartridge and cut off the bottom. Cut off the neck and bottom of multi-colored bottles to make a cylinder. Then cut these cylinders into a spiral. Wrap the resulting strips alternately around the base. Secure the beginning and end of the strips with tape.
Dome of leaves
The country house will be decorated with a multi-colored lampshade in the shape of a dome.
You will need brown, green and transparent plastic bottles, a stationery knife, scissors and nail clippers. Candle, awl, copper wire.
Cut off the neck and bottom and cut the walls into ovals of different sizes. Using nail scissors, cut out leaves from ovals. Heat the leaves slightly over a candle until they become uneven. Using an awl, poke holes at the base of the leaves. By fastening the leaves with wire, form a lampshade.
Chinese lantern
An option in the form of a Chinese lantern is suitable as a wall lamp.
You need to take a 2-3 liter container with smooth walls, 20 cm long wire and a stationery knife.
Cut the walls from the throat to the bottom into even strips. Bend the ends of the wire with a hook and secure it to the bottom and throat. Pass the wire through the neck and secure the socket with the light bulb on it.
Dandelion
This delicate and light lamp will decorate both a veranda in a country house and a bright room in an apartment.
You need to take one bottle with a capacity of 5 liters, 8-10 bottles of the same color as the five-liter bottle.Wire, scissors, clear plastic glue, a candle and long tweezers.
You can cut the neck out of a five-liter bottle to conveniently attach a socket with a light bulb. Cut off the bottom. Cut the remaining bottles into small pieces of arbitrary shape. Melt the pieces over a candle, holding them with tweezers. The pieces will curve beautifully when exposed to heat. The edge of the main bottle can also be held over the candle to give it a curved shape. Attach the melted pieces tightly to the base bottle and to each other. The result will be a fluffy ball.
Thanks to plastic bottles, you can easily and quickly decorate any lamp. It’s just as easy to change boring decor.
