Vinegar and soda have cleaning properties, with which it is easy to clean pipes, scrub carpet and seams between tiles, wash dishes and defeat mold. Cleaning pipes
Sewer pipes require systematic cleaning, as they become contaminated with residues of wool and detergents, hair and other debris. It is important not to wait for persistent blockages, clean as part of prevention. To remove light blockages, you can use soda with vinegar without worrying about the condition of the pipes, since the composition is completely safe and non-aggressive.
Step-by-step instructions:
- Remove standing water in the sink using a plunger.
- Heat 130 ml of 9% vinegar to a temperature of 40-50 ℃.
- Pour a whole pack of soda into the drain.
- Pour the heated vinegar into the soda.
- Do not use the sink for about 40 minutes: the taps should be screwed in, do not pour water. Leave it alone for the reaction.
- Boil 5 liters of water and after the end of the soak, pour 5 liters of boiling water into the sink to dissolve the plug.
- If necessary, the process can be repeated.
Carpet cleaning
If the carpets are dirty, the product can be cleaned by yourself. Soda with vinegar allows you not only to remove old stains, but also to refresh the brightness of colors, remove the smell of old age and enhance the colors of the picture. Algorithm:
- Vacuum the carpet thoroughly, go over both sides.
- Check the reaction on a small area of the product from the edge or from the back side, which is not noticeable.
- Apply clean, dry powder over the surface of the carpet.
- Vacuum the product again.
- Dilute about 20 ml of vinegar in 1 liter of warm water and pour the solution into a spray bottle.
- Spray the mixture over the entire carpet, avoiding getting too wet. The carpet should be slightly damp.
- After 30 minutes, walk over the carpet with a stiff-bristled brush.
- Wait for the carpet to dry using a vacuum cleaner.
If you don’t have a sprayer at home, you can walk the vinegar solution over the carpet with a sponge, thoroughly wiping the pile.
Bath treatment
Due to the hardness of the water, a specific yellowish coating can form on the walls of the bathroom, which can be difficult to remove. Household chemicals contain abrasive particles that can scratch the surface. Cleaning must be done with rubber gloves:

- Fill the container that needs to be descaled with water.
- Pour baking soda inside: take 10 g of soda per 1 liter of water.
- Place the container on the fire and boil the water for about 5 minutes.
- Pour vinegar in volumes of 10–20 ml.
- Remove the container from the stove and let the pan cool slightly.
- After cooling, drain the water and rinse the pan with warm water using a sponge.
If the contamination is on the outside of the pan, it needs to be immersed in a pan of a larger diameter and the procedure repeated.
Remove stains from the sofa
To clean stains from upholstered furniture from juices, coffee and other substances, you need to follow these steps:
- Dilute 150 ml of 9% vinegar in half a liter of water, add 1 tbsp. l. soda and add 100 ml of medical alcohol.
- Pour the resulting mixture into a spray bottle and apply to non-problem areas of the sofa.
- After a quarter of an hour, wipe the sofa with a brush and blot with a damp cloth.
- Dry and vacuum the sofa thoroughly.
Baking soda combined with vinegar turns into an effective cleaning agent that can easily be used to deal with blockages in pipes, scrub bathtubs and kettles, remove mold and clean kitchen tiles.
